Benjamin Raskin · LMFT #165600 · CSAT-C (CSAT Candidate)
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a CSAT Candidate (CSAT-C), with specialized training in sex addiction recovery. Here’s what that means for our work together.

Understanding the initials
CSAT stands for Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, a professional certification program offered by the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).
CSAT-C means CSAT Candidate. I am nearing completion of that specialized training and certification process. IITAP describes candidates as mental health professionals in the CSAT program who work with the guidance of a supervisor.
My current status is candidate; I have not yet been awarded the completed CSAT certification.
My professional background
I am Benjamin Raskin, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, license #165600 · CSAT-C (CSAT Candidate). This is my professional license to practice psychotherapy.
My CSAT-C status describes additional specialty training and a certification pathway. It is separate from my California license.
How I approach recovery
I want you to understand both my background and how we might work together. In our sessions, we can explore patterns, feelings, choices, and the impact of behavior, then agree on practical recovery goals.
Structured tools can give us a place to start, but your experience matters. We’ll discuss whether a recovery framework fits your needs rather than assume that one label or exercise works for everyone.
You can read about the first seven recovery tasks, explore men’s recovery groups, or learn about the three-week Facing the Shadow intensive.
The support I offer
I work individually with people seeking recovery from sex or porn addiction and with couples affected by addiction or betrayal. I also offer recovery groups and intensives.
I do not provide standalone individual therapy for betrayed partners. If that is the support you need, seek a therapist who offers individual care for partners.
A few common questions
My current designation is CSAT-C, or CSAT Candidate. I have specialized training and am in the certification process; I do not represent myself as having completed CSAT certification.
Yes. You’re welcome to ask about my background, approach, and the role of specialty consultation during a free 15-minute introductory conversation.
